The Open Doors of 2018

There are various doors that God opens up to us. Let’s be sure we go through these open doors in 2018. What are they?

First, there is the door of faith – “…all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles” (Acts 14:27). We enter the door of faith that God opens for us when we repent of our sins and trust the Lord Jesus Christ to save us by His grace. Have you entered the door of faith? Have you received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? Remember, He is the Door (John 10:9).

Second, there is the door of fellowship with Christ – “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). I believe this verse is directed at the local churches that have placed the Lord Jesus Christ on the outside and replaced Him with programs, personalities, and philosophies. The local church is to be “the pillar and ground of the truth” (I Timothy 3:15).

Third, we read about the door of ministering – “Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord” (II Corinthians 2:12). This door consists of our service and preaching. God’s program for His Church is for us to share the good news with everybody and then to disciple those who do accept Him as their Savior. God has open doors of ministry everywhere! Jesus told the church at Philadelphia (the missionary church), “…I have set before thee an open door…” (Revelation 3:8a).

Fourth, there is the door of bold speaking – “Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ…” (Colossians 4:3). Paul wanted to be sure his witness was effectual, so he requested prayer. We also need to be concerned about our witness for Christ. May God give us many such opportunities to share Jesus in 2013!

Finally, we look forward to the door of heaven – “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither…” (Revelation 4:1). This is speaking of the Rapture of the Church! Perhaps 2013 will be the year that Jesus comes! Wouldn’t that be great? Amen!

Beloved, let’s be sure we are entering all these doors that God has opened for us!
