All of us are aware of just how crucial one vote can be. Consider, for example, that…
- George W. Bush won the presidency in 2000 by only 537 votes in Florida – out of a total of 106 million votes cast nationwide!
- Governor Bob McDonnell was elected Attorney General of Virginia in 2005 by only 323 votes out of almost 2 million cast. Had he lost that race, he would not be governor today.
- John F. Kennedy won the presidency in 1960 by only 100,000 votes – less than one vote per precinct.
As you prepare to cast your vote for missions, please prayerfully consider the following…
- If you REFUSE TO VOTE for missions this year, you practically cast a ballot in favor of the recall of every Gospel-preaching missionary, both in the home and foreign fields.
- If you VOTE TO DO LESS than before, you are saying, in essence, that missions is less important or that we have done all we need to do.
- If you VOTE THE SAME as formerly, you favor holding the ground already won, but you are disregarding any advance movement. Your song is Hold the Fort! However, all of God’s soldiers are under marching orders to “Go!”
- If you VOTE TO ADVANCE your involvement beyond former years, then you vote in favor of an advance movement in the gaining of new territory for Christ. Should you not join this class?
This election is a crucial one! Eternal souls are at stake! YOUR VOTE MAKES A DIFFERENCE! The big question remains, “How will YOU vote for missions this year?”
