Faith Without Works Doesn’t Work
Bible Text: James 2:14-26 | Preacher: Dr. George A. Mulford | Series: Faith That Works | Our passage today is one of the most controversial passages in the New Testament because it deals with faith and works. Some people believe that James contradicted Paul’s teaching concerning being justified before God on the basis of faith alone. Rather, there is absolutely no contradiction, just two sides of the same coin. Paul argues we are justified before God on the basis of faith alone; James argues we are justified before men on the basis of our works because the only way men can see faith is through the works that faith produces. They both agree that good works are the proof of salvation and not the path of salvation.
