Living in the Family of God

Bible Text: Romans 8:12-17 | Preacher: Dr. George A. Mulford | Series: Romans: The Gospel of God's Grace I wish I could say as some universalists and secular humanists do that we are all the children of God, but it's just not so. The Bible never teaches the universal fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man. Not every person on Earth is in the family of God.  If the universalists were correct, Jesus would never have said, "If God were your father, you would love me" (John 8:42), or what He told the Pharisees, that they were of their father, the devil (John 8:44). The Bible says we are the children of wrath and the children of disobedience (Ephesians 2:2-3). We are not by nature the children of God, but we can be adopted into the family of God by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior. Our text this morning talks about what it means to live in God's family.
