The Marks of a Missionary
This last section of the book of Romans is personal in nature but full of instruction. Before closing his letter, Paul shares his heart and his motives for service with the believers in Rome. This passage is one of the great missionary passages of the Bible, because, here, Paul lays out some of the basic strategy that made him one of the greatest missionaries of all time, if not the greatest. One thing that becomes clear about Paul is the fact that he had a heart for the lost. Paul was a powerful preacher and a great missionary throughout the Roman Empire, preaching and planting New Testament churches. He was a prolific writer and wrote half of the New Testament in numerous letters. Paul's heart ought to be our heart, that we would be engaged in the work of bringing others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
